Hollywood star is a victim of 'face blindness'???

Hollywood star Brad Pitt is a part of the headlines these days. Recently he revealed that he has face blindness. He finds it difficult to remember faces, so he shy away from attending public events. During a conversation with GQ, the actor said, "I find it difficult to remember people at public events, especially parties. I can't remember their faces." This disease of the actor is also called face blindness i.e. prosopagnosia.

The actor said that he always wants to remember the people he meets but feels embarrassed when he doesn't recognize them. According to an interview given to GQ, however, he never got it officially treated. Pitt is also aware that he may be suffering from prosopagnosia.

What is prosopagnosia or face blindness?

According to the National health Service (NHS), face blindness usually affects people from birth, and can have a serious impact on their daily lives. Many people who have prosopagnosia do not recognize family members, relatives or friends.

Developmental prosopagnosia - In this problem, a person has trouble forgetting without any kind of brain damage. It is also genetic and continues from generation to generation in people.

Acquired prosopagnosia - This problem is often caused by injury, stroke or trauma to the brain. Due to which the memory of the people starts getting weak and they start forgetting the faces of the people.
