The chennai High court is set to rule today on the cases filed by deepa and deepak seeking to declare the Veda Nilayam, the Poes Estate home where the late chief minister jayalalithaa lived, as a memorial house and declare the state-owned law will be invalid.

Poes house of political significance

The Poes house was bought during the time when the late chief minister jayalalithaa was an actress. The Poes house became an important house after jayalalithaa stepped into politics.

It was here that many politically significant decisions were taken that revolutionized tamil Nadu. This house was as powerful as a fort until jayalalithaa lived.

Owned by the government

After her demise, the house was taken over by the government in anticipation of the arrival of both deepa and Deepak, who were declared her heirs.

The previous AIADMK government had announced that the Vedha station, the Poes Estate, would be converted into a memorial house. The law was enacted to implement it and the Vedha Nilayam and its movable property were nationalized.

The house is their own, Deepa, deepak case but the public is not allowed. Jayalalithaa's heirs deepa and deepak had filed a case in the chennai High court against the state's law, demanding that the house owned by the late chief minister jayalalithaa be declared their own.

At the time, deepa and deepak argued that the state did not have the power to legislate on the acquisition of personal property and that the law that made the Vedha Nilayam state-owned should be declared invalid and a ban on memorization should be imposed.

So finally Poes Nilayam belongs to so-called heirs...!
