At the chennai Foreign Post office, chennai airport Customs seized 52 MTMA tablets, 5 grammes of meth crystal, and three shipments containing 128 grammes of cannabis. The first two boxes from the netherlands arrived in madurai in the names of two other people. The first delivery included 52 green tablets weighing a total of 28 grammes, which were presumed to be MTMA.

They are worth Rs 2.6 lakh. The second parcel included 5 grammes of meth crystal worth Rs 50,000. In the third case, a parcel labelled "Essential gift for Women" was shipped from the united states to a chennai resident. A shipment containing 128 grammes of cannabis was discovered during the search. All the drugs and cannabis were seized by the airport authorities and seized immediately.

The three items confiscated were worth Rs 3.12 lakh. Further inquiry is continuing, according to the chennai airport Commission's Chief Commissioner of Customs. Regarding this one of the officials said, "We have seized drugs and cannabis from post office and we were shocked as they are all labelled as Essential Gifts for women and they were packed in such a way no one gets an ounce of doubt on that parce;."
