No record of farmer's death: Are farmers dead? The Center said there was no accounting and no compensation

Agriculture minister Narendra Singh Tomar was responding to a question on whether the government would provide financial assistance to the families of the dead farmers.

The Union Ministry of Agriculture has said that there is no count of farmers who died during the farmers' protest.

Agriculture minister Narendra Singh Tomar told the lok sabha that the question of compensation was therefore irrelevant.

The minister was responding to a question from the opposition on whether compensation would be paid to the families of the dead farmers.

Farmers' organizations estimate that more than 700 farmers lost their lives during the agitation, which began in november 2020. Bad weather, illness, and suicide were among the causes of death.

The Opposition had walked out of the house yesterday in protest of venkaiah Naidu's stand.

They then staged a dharna in front of the gandhi statue. There are plans to boycott the meeting if the suspension is not lifted.

This will be decided after looking at the position of the government. It is noteworthy that the trinamool congress was present at the meeting of the opposition parties called by mallikarjun Kharge.

However, the trinamool congress had yesterday boycotted the assembly proceedings.
