PMK Founder Ramadoss has demanded the TN and Union government procure and sell the Vegetables and fruits themselves as it would be beneficial for everyone. Regarding that, he said, "The recent rains in tamil Nadu have uncovered two terrible truths: a lack of veggies and rising costs. people have been put under a lot of stress as a result of rising vegetable costs; at the same time, the farmers have gotten little benefit. As the northeast monsoon strengthened, vegetable crops, notable tomatoes, were harmed.

As a result, vegetables were scarce, and a kilo of tomatoes may cost up to Rs.180. Most veggies have increased in price by more than Rs 100 per kg. Although the price of vegetables has dropped slightly in recent days, several crops, especially tomatoes, still cost more than Rs 100 per kg. Even in tamil Nadu's cooperative department farm green stores, tomatoes are offered for Rs. 80.

The public's surcharge is paid to the middlemen. I didn't go to the farmers' market. To reverse this trend, the government must purchase a wide range of agricultural products. The Proletarian People's party (PPP) has consistently urged for the establishment of an Agricultural Commodity Pricing Commission and an Agricultural Products Procurement Commission to set a fair price for them. The farmers' plight will be alleviated as a result of this.

The kerala government has made it feasible to fix the price of vegetables at which they can be purchased and sold directly to the public. In october of last year, a minimum purchase price for 16 vegetables and fruits was established in Kerala. The cost of vegetable and fruit cultivation will be calculated district by district, and the buying price will be decided with a 20% profit margin. The kerala Government's Vegetables and fruits Development Board and private enterprises registered with the government buy and sell the produce at reasonable prices. As a result, the scheme's goal is to ensure that farmers and consumers both receive a fair price."
