The original HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA (2012) was released ten years ago, and the most current, HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA 3: SUMMER VACATION, was released nearly four years ago (2018). Dracula is preparing a party to commemorate the hotel's 125th anniversary as the story begins. Dracula and his child Mavis (Selena Gomez) dance to "Just the 2 of Us" in the opening scene.

As her spouse Johnny (Andy Samberg) comes in, the pleasant moment quickly transforms into "Just the Three of Us." As you might have guessed from the title, it was the first, but surely not the last, makeover. For most children, the characters and pictures are the most important parts, and 'Transylvania' is here to help. The fact that johnny and Mavis are the main characters this time is intriguing.

The main kick here is that johnny is shocked and transforms into a colorful and crazy dragon that is likely to elicit chuckles, thanks to a special ray pistol that transforms humans into monsters and monsters into humans. The ray gun was invented by Van Helsing, who is confined to his cellar. Following a sequence of accidents that culminated in the party punch transforming most of the monsters into humans, the entire crew embarks on a South American trip in search of a replacement crystal so that the ray cannon can return them to their original monster status.

You may probably imagine what happens to the protagonists on that voyage because most children's movies incorporate a life lesson or moral. They have a new perspective and admiration for the "other" side after being converted. However, the comedy here is more akin to the slapstick and pratfalls of old cartoons, particularly the Looney Toons. The 'physical' comedy, particularly Johnny's portrayal of an eager-to-please dragon, is sure to delight children.

Overall, This should satisfy the franchise lovers as well as new audience!
