With the rise of Telugu, Tamil, and kannada films, bollywood lost its lustre as the top film business in India. More money has been made by "KGF 2" and "RRR" than by many bollywood blockbusters of all time. Recently, hindi audiences have started to prioritise South indian movies. Therefore, hindi film industry commentators and bollywood filmmakers have been eagerly awaiting the chance to disparage South indian films.

False allegations claiming that South indian films are becoming flops have already started to circulate in a segment of the bollywood trade media. In the hindi market, movies including Vijay's "Beast" alias "Raw," Prabhas' "Radhe Shyam," Ajith's "Valimai," and "James" flopped. Additionally, "Major," a movie that was marketed as a pan-Indian blockbuster, performed fairly averagely. The bollywood industry then started to celebrate these failures. They entered the debate by claiming that hindi audiences had lost interest in South indian cinema.

They have an excuse to disparage our movies because to the success of "Bhool Bhulaiya 2." However, the reality is that "Vikram," starring Kamal Haasan, also performed better at theatres than "Bhool Bhulaiya 2" globally. Additionally, Baahubali 2, kgf 2, and rrr are the only South indian films among the top 3 all-Indian domestic blockbusters.
