In order to make moviegoing accessible to the general public without the burden of additional fees, the government of andhra pradesh has finally issued the directive to sell movie tickets through its online portal YourScreen. T Vijay Kumar reddy, managing director of the ap Film, tv and Theatre Development Corporation, revealed this to the media on Wednesday. He added that moving forward, movie tickets will only be sold at the prices set by the government, and ticket black-marketing would halt.

According to him, APFTTDC will run the YourScreens webpage where customers may buy movie tickets at the set prices without paying any extra fees. "In contrast to the existing online booking platforms, where service fees range from Rs 20 to Rs 25, YourScreens charges only Rs 1.95 paisa for platform fees. The load on the spectators will be lessened as a result," he stated. reddy emphasised that the government had only decided to implement the online ticketing system in response to the representatives of the telugu film industry and following consultation with a number of groups, including distributors, exhibitors, and service providers.

The MD clarified that theatres that have agreements with other internet portals could still adhere to their agreements. However, in accordance with the current GO, the theatres were only permitted to sell 50% of the tickets through these portals. However, theatres ought to allow customers to purchase tickets on the platforms of their choice, including YourScreens. reddy argued that "they cannot declare that buyers should only purchase tickets through the current platform." He allayed the theatres' concerns that they might not receive funding from the government in a timely manner for their online ticketing system.
