The state's financial status is strong, according to senior ysr congress party leader and andhra pradesh state finance minister buggana rajendranath reddy, who made the claim on Friday. Speaking to reporters in Vijayawada, buggana called the telugu desam party and the local media's bluff over the state's financial situation.

In comparison to the previous administration, the state, according to him, had better financial management and maintained budgetary discipline. Despite the Covid-19 pandemic, according to buggana, the state managed its finances properly, and the public debt was well under control compared to the tdp administration. He said that between 2014 and 2019, the yearly debt growth rate under the previous tdp government was 19.2 percent, whereas it was reduced to 15.77 percent under the YSRCP government.

In comparison to the previous administration, the state's budget deficit decreased from an average of 4% of GSDP to 2.10% in 2021–22. He criticised the opposition for equating the country with sri lanka and recalled that the government has spent an additional Rs. 44,000 crore on non-DBT programmes while also transparently transferring Rs. 1.46 lakh crore into beneficiaries' accounts. According to buggana, work completed under the mahatma gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme during the last three years was Rs 27,448 crore, compared to Rs 27,340 crore under the tdp government from 2014 to 2019.
