The andhra pradesh general elections are scheduled for one and a half years from now. According to tdp loyalists, the state is experiencing a significant anti-incumbency tsunami that will undoubtedly result in a change of government. But it appears that things are different now. tdp leaders are shaken by the results of the atmakur by-election. In this constituency, 1,74,509 ballots were cast in the 2019 election, and Mekapati Gowtham reddy of the YSRCP received 92,758 of them (53 percent) to win the seat.

Now in 2022, 1,37,081 votes were cast, and Mekapati vikram Reddy, the YSRCP candidate, received 1,02,240 of them (75 percent), representing a sharp rise in votes of 22% overall. The BSP candidate Obulesu received 4904 votes, while the opposition bjp candidate Bharat Kumar received a pitiful 19,352 votes. Independents and NOTA made up the remaining 10,583 votes.

A total of 37,428 of the 1,74,509-1,37,081 voters who participated in the 2019 election were barred from casting a ballot in this byelection. Let's make the fictitious assumption that they are all tdp and janasena supporters. If everyone had turned up to vote, the tdp and janasena may have received 21% of the vote. Knowing this is quite shocking. Except for a few locations in the Konaseema region, it is known that janasena did not spread throughout the state. However, the tdp is in a terrible situation. The party is going through its worst period year after year, and it appears that the results of the upcoming general elections will be much more disrespectful than those of 2019.
