N Chandrababu Naidu, the leader of the telugu desam party and a former chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, visited his assembly district of kuppam in the chittoor district for the third time this year in an apparent effort to cling onto the seat. Perhaps never before has Naidu made so frequent trips to his constituency. Forget about the time when he served as the state's chief minister; he had not made a habit of going to kuppam even while he was in the opposition.

Since the tdp lost the local body elections - from the gramme panchayat to the municipal elections - to the ysr congress party in the last two years, the tdp head, who has served the constituency for the last seven times, is plainly feeling uneasy. Y S jagan Mohan Reddy, head of the YSRC and chief minister, has been skilfully repositioning his pawns in order to win kuppam in the 2024 assembly elections at all costs and expel Naidu from the region.

K R J Bharat, a young leader who has been cultivating the constituency and won the support of many voters, especially the younger generation, has been appointed as the party's kuppam in-charge. jagan has also given out special subsidies to help kuppam expand and become a revenue division, fulfilling a long-held desire of the inhabitants. In addition, he has assigned his senior minister, Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy, to supervise the party's growth in Kuppam.
