Former prime minister Manmohan Singh is an extraordinary person, but yet India's growth stagnated under him, according to Infosys founder NR Narayan Murthy on Friday. He said the things at an event at the indian Institute of Management in Ahmedabad, which may cause some political circles to scratch their heads. He urged the students to compare the indian and Chinese economies on an equal footing.

Murthy, one of the most well-known characters in indian IT, reflected on his time serving on the board of HSBC, london (between 2008 and 2012). Initially, he claimed, china would be brought up in the discussions at least twice or three times before India. But regrettably, I'm not sure what happened to india after that. Murthy stated that although he has the utmost respect for the late prime minister Manmohan Singh, "India stalled (during the UPA-era)".

He added that everything was delayed and that no decisions were made at the level of the administration. The IT czar claimed that when he left HSBC (in 2012), China's name was brought up roughly 30 times more frequently than India's during meetings. "Therefore, I believe it is your (the younger generation) job to insist that anytime someone mentions the name of another country, especially china, they also include India. I believe you can accomplish it "Murthy remarked.
