The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences will announce the list of nominees competing for the top honour in a few seconds. Four indian films made the shortlists that were unveiled by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for 10 categories in december 2022, despite the fact that many of the 300 or more films competing for oscar nominations are from India.
These movies won awards for best song, best foreign picture, best documentary feature (All That Breathes), and best documentary short (The Elephant Whisperers), respectively. rrr, directed by SS rajamouli, is anticipated to be the first indian movie to receive an oscar nomination.
If the forecast is accurate, the movie will become only the second non-English movie after "Parasite" to be nominated for Best Picture.
When the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences releases its official list tonight, movies including "The kashmir Files," "Kantara," "Gangubai Kathiawadi," and many others are hoping to be recognised. The nominees will be announced at the Samuel Goldwyn theater in Beverly Hills, California, by Riz ahmed and Allison Williams.
