Over 800 full-time employees resigned?...

During the Corona epidemic, many companies implemented the policy of working from home for their employees. For the time being this policy has been changed. According to a special report by Inc42, 800 employees have resigned from White Hat Jr. in the last two months.

It is known that White Hat junior is a platform to teach coding. It was taken over by BYJU'S some time back. On march 18, the company had asked employees to return to the office within a month through an email. The company had asked to end the work from home facility during this period. Along with this, the employees were asked to join the office by 18 April. All these include employees of the sales team, coding team, and maths team. It is being speculated that more employees may leave the job in the coming time.

An employee who resigned from White Hat Jr. told Inc42 that just one month was not enough for a relocation. “Some have children, some have old and sick parents, while others have other responsibilities. It is not right to call back the employees in such a short time."

Another employee told that salary is also included in the decision not to return to the office. At the time of hiring, employees were informed about their job location - White Hat Jr. has offices in Gurugram, Mumbai, and Bangalore. However, after working from home for two years, the employees were of the view that the salary structure should be changed to match the expenses in expensive cities.

In 2020, BYJU'S bought White Hat Jr. in a $300 million all-cash deal. To this, an employee said that "Last year when BYJU's acquired WhiteHat Jr., we all understood somewhere that layoffs would start gradually."
