In order to reform the labor laws, the ministry has said that 44 types of old labor laws should be merged into four major codes. Provision of four days of work and three days of rest in the new system

It is believed that with the implementation of the new labor code, the number of working days in a week will be reduced to four, while the employer will have to give three days of leave to his employee. Although this thing is not as good as it sounds, if you want to take three days' rest after working four days a week, then for this you will have to work 12-12 hours every day. Companies will also be able to ask their employees to overtime. In such a situation, even if you get some more money for overtime, it will increase the workload on you, which can adversely affect your health.



Leave will be available only after 180 days of work

Cash will be available at the end of the year on the remaining holidays

Under the new labor code, it will now be necessary for employers to encash the holidays at the end of every year. This means that if you have 45 days of vacation left at the end of the year, then 30 of those holidays will be carried forward to the next year, while the remaining 15 will need to be cashed out.



Work from home will also get recognition

While preparing the new labor code, the government has also considered work from home. In the new system, some guidelines can be prepared by the companies regarding getting the work done from home. Work from home can play an important role in the balance between work and life. The practice of work from home has increased rapidly in companies in the post-Corona epidemic. Now in many companies, less is being taken from the workers under work from home. Work from home can get statutory recognition in the new labor code.




What will be the effect on salary?

If the new labor codes are implemented from July 1, then the share of the basic salary i.e. basic salary in the salary of the workers will be up to 50 percent. There will be provisions for all kinds of allowances in the remaining half of the salary. At present, companies keep only 25-30 percent as basic salary. All types of allowances in Ace range from 70-75 per cent. Due to these allowances, more salary comes in the account of the employees, because all kinds of deductions are made on the basic salary, it remains very less. In such a situation, after the implementation of the new wage code, workers may have to suffer a loss of seven to ten percent in cash in hand salary.




Contribution to PF will increase

If there is an increase in the basic salary, then the contribution to PF will also increase. This will be because PF is calculated on the basis of basic salary. 12 percent of the basic salary is deposited in the PF account by the employer and 12 percent by the employee. In such a situation, if at present the part of basic salary in your salary is only 25-30 percent, then it means that your contribution in PF will almost double. This provision has been made by the government to ensure the post retirement facilities of the workers. With the implementation of the new labor code, your gratuity will also double, as PM and gratuity are calculated in almost the same way. Half of the basic salary is deducted for gratuity. After the implementation of the new labor code, the contribution deposited in the form of pension in PF has also increased. In such a situation, your pension amount will also increase.
