COVID-19 claimed the life of indian all-rounder Veda Krishnamurthy's sister vatsala today, just two weeks after her mother died of the virus. Veda had previously tweeted about her mother's death. “I appreciate all of the messages about my Amma's death. My family, as you can imagine, is lost without her. Now we're praying for my sister. I've come back negative, and I'd appreciate it if you could respect our privacy. “My heartfelt condolences and prayers go out to those who are going through the same ordeal!” Veda said.

When the entire family was screened for COVID-19 last month, her sister vatsala Shivakumar and her mother both tested positive. Irfan Sait, Krishnamurthy's previous coach, posted on his instagram storey on thursday morning about her sister's death.
Veda has played 48 One-Day Internationals and 76 Twenty-20 Internationals for India. In her ODI debut against england in 2011, she scored 50 off 54 balls. She is also one of only a few players to have played for t20 franchises outside of India. Not just that, but she was also a member of the team that advanced to the 2017 Women's world cup final, where she was a standout player.
