Three people have been arrested by the bihar Police's Economic Offence Unit (EoU) for allegedly black selling Remdesivir injection. For the treatment of Covid-19, the antiviral medication is reportedly in high demand. The suspects were named Ashfaq Ahmad, the owner of Rainbow Hospital, his relative Altaf Ahmad, and MR Raju Kumar Choudhary. They were apprehended while attempting to unlawfully sell the drug at exorbitant prices.

Two more people were arrested on suspicion of buying Remdesvir vials in the name of a woman, including the manager of a private hospital. According to an official, the hospital administration operated a medical shop on its grounds called RainbowPharma, which bought injections in the names of patients and marketed them to another at prices varying from Rs. 80,000 to Rs. 1 lakh per vial.

As Thakur went to Mukul Trader to buy an injection on thursday at 9.30 p.m., he was arrested. The market for Remdesivir has increased as the number of Covid-19 cases has risen across the country. In the state's black market, one vial, which costs about 3,400 rupees, sells for Rs. 40,000.  This two also revealed the identity of Mohammad Alam, a black marketeer.
