The telangana government is planning something futuristic for the delivery of the vaccine to less feasible areas in the state in order to increase the rate of vaccination. Companies like flipkart and Dunzo with good previous logistic experience have formed consortia to design and execute drone deliveries in telangana as part of the state's drone delivery programme.

The indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has invited drone operators to submit proposals for the provision of medications and vaccinations. The most modern tech is made available for these process. The ICMR is looking for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) that can fly beyond visual range (BVLOS) and traverse lengths of 35 kilometres at "minimum" heights of 100 metres. The ICMR received a provisional exemption from the Ministry of Civil Aviation for its research with IIT-Kanpur upon on viability of BVLOS operations for vaccine delivery. The Ministry has chosen 20 consortia, and no permission has allowed to carry out these activities as of yet.

The Project "Medicine from Sky" invented by Healthnet Global Limited and World Economic Forum. telangana has embraced this approach to use a drone for last-mile deliveries and includes drones into the state's healthcare system.
