The tragedy of actress Jayanthi's death hit filmgoers like a tonne of bricks on a monday morning. The experienced actress has appeared in numerous of films in five languages and has risen to the top, particularly in the kannada cinema business, in which she was known as Abhinaya Sharadhe, which means goddess of acting.

Krishna Kumar, the legendary actress's son, confirmed her demise to Bangalore Times, saying that she was ailing from diseases at the time of her death, but that she died peacefully in her sleep. Last year, while she was stranded in hampi during lockdown, the actress has spoken to Bangalore Times about how she was spending the time to absorb the scenery and surroundings while also keeping up with her friends via virtual video chats.

Jayanthi has an impressive filmography in Telugu, kannada, Tamil, malayalam and Hindi. During conferences, she is known to be highly sociable with her peers, coworkers, and industry colleagues, and she was usually the one to brighten everybody in the set.

Jayanthi, who is 76 years old, has won 7 karnataka State Film Awards and two Filmfare Awards. She has also received a number of additional honours. She has been on cinema among the greatest performers of her age, then went on to work with children, always illuminating the screen with her performance. Jayanthi's colleagues believe that this collection of work, in which she is so dominant, will secure her immortality.
