PV sindhu advanced to the semi-finals by defeating Akane Yamaguchi in straight sets. sindhu controlled the first game, which was completed in just over 23 minutes. Sindhu has advanced to the quarterfinals of the women's singles event at the tokyo Olympics with a straight-game victory against Denmark's Mia Blichfeldt on Thursday. In a 41-minute match, the 26-year-old indian, who won silver at the 2016 Rio Olympics, defeated 13th seed Blichfeldt 21-15 21-13. “I started off okay in the first game, but around 15-16 minutes, I let up a couple of points in my defence because I was rushing. My coach told me I was playing the incorrect way, and I realised it right away, so I altered my strategy and finished the first game,” sindhu said after the game.
