The suspended S.P. has attempted to clear his name in the instance of further DGP sexual harassment of a female S.P. In the chennai High Court, T. Kannan was on trial. It was alleged that Judge Velmurugan was acting on the directions of Rajesh Das, an additional DGP on Kannan's behalf, when the case came up for hearing yesterday (Oct. 20).

Judge Velmurugan interjected at the time, asking if female cops should be treated with dignity and if they should murder if a high-ranking authority commanded them to. He questioned how the public could have faith in the police if high-ranking officials were being accused of wrongdoing. Following that, S.P. stated that the matter will be dropped. The case was dismissed after Kannan's statement. The trial must also be concluded within three months, according to the lower court.

The CBCID had previously stated that a sexual harassment case involving a female IPS official and a special DGP would be finished within eight weeks. A woman IPS official has filed a formal complaint with tamil Nadu DGP Tripathi claiming sexual misconduct by Special DGP Rajesh Das of the tamil Nadu Law and Order Department. Following this, the CBCID took control of the situation, and a case was filed against three sections, with an inquiry underway. After then, the case was voluntarily handled by the chennai High Court.
