The new 'Botswana' variant is a highly mutated version of covid-19

A new variant of covid-19 has been found in 'Botswana' which is the highly mutated version of the covid-19 virus. This was reported by the british experts who found it very alarming and most mutated than the old variant.  Around ten cases of this new strain have been found which is initially named 'Nu'. It has been earlier spotted in three countries including South Africa. The variant is reported to be widespread and it also carries 32 mutations. It is reported to be highly transmissible and found to be vaccine-resistant also. The most alarming is that the spike protein has more alterations compared to the other old variant.

Francois Balloux, a geneticist at london University said that the protein spikes changes may cause the vaccines difficult to fight against them as they were trained to memorize the older version of the immune system. Dr. tom Peacock from Imperial college has said that the new variant to be horrific.

He also warned that it is worst than anything we know. Its scientific name is B.1.1.529 with the world domination delta variant. There are three cases of this variant found in botswana and six cases in South Africa. One case was also found in hong kong in a 36-year-old man who returned from Africa.
