Alert! Around 6 lakh indians gave up indian Citizenship

The indian Government informed the parliament that around 6 lakhs people have given up indian citizenship which was surveyed from september 2017 to september 2021. They gave up citizenship for another country according to the reports on Tuesday.

 The Union minister of state nityanand rai in his written reply to the lok sabha said that around 1.33 lakh of indians gave up indian citizenship in the year 2017, around the same number reached 1.34 lakh in the year 2018, 85000 in 2020 which had reduced in number and 1.11 lakhs at last in the year 2021 September.
              According to the news, a total of 1,33,83000 indian nationals are currently living in other countries to date, informed the Ministry of External Affairs. Only 4177 people are granted indian citizenship between the years 2016 and 2020. Out of 10,645 people who have applied for indian citizenship, only 4177 people have been granted.
From this number, the Highest number is from Pakistan(7782), Afghanistan(795) followed by the US (227 people), sri lanka (205 people), Bangladesh(184 people), and nepal (167). After the rules are notified, people who are eligible under the citizenship Act may apply for Citizenship.
