Has the federal government conducted any research to see if competitive tests like NEET have an impact on the wellbeing of the socially and educationally disadvantaged? TR Balu, Chairman of the DMK Parliamentary Committee, has questioned the public. Regarding that, a press release has been issued by the DMK government and that reads,

"TR Balu, a former Union minister and the Chairman of the DMK Committee in parliament Did the central government perform any study yesterday in the lok sabha to determine the extent to which various competitive tests, such as the All india Competitive Examination for Medical Studies, affect the wellbeing of the socially and educationally backward? If yes, what are the specifics? What actions has the government made to ensure that the All india Level Public Entrance Examinations do not discriminate against the backward classes and that their constitutional rights are protected?"

He stated in a question in the lok sabha yesterday that the federal government has not done any research on the impact of all-India competitive tests, including NEET, on the backward classes, according to Union minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Pratima Bhoumik. However, in the All india quota for medical education, 27 percent reservation for socially and economically backward sectors has been introduced in the NEED test since august 2021. As a result, the consequences of NEET selection have not been investigated. In response, the minister stated.

Furthermore, under Section 338B (5) of the Constitution, the National Commission for the Welfare of the backward classes has been established with the necessary powers to protect and ensure the rights of the backward classes and the community, and educationally backward people can approach this Commission and file a complaint if their rights are violated. He stated that the Commission has been given the authority to take over.
