It has been revealed that 25 bjp candidates in Uttar Pradesh's initial two-phase elections are facing criminal charges. From february 10 to march 7, Uttar Pradesh will hold elections for 403 assembly constituencies in seven phases. On march 10th, the votes will be counted. A few days ago, the bjp revealed the list of candidates for the first two stages of the Uttar Pradesh elections. For 63 MLAs who are currently MLAs, the list of 107 candidates has been re-nominated. 

Twenty people were not given the chance to stand in the elections. women have ten seats, other backward classes have 44 seats, and those on the waiting list have 19 seats. Meanwhile, 25 of the 107 candidates are facing criminal accusations, including deputy chief minister Keshav prasad Maurya. Four criminal complaints have been filed against Keshav prasad Maurya, a well-known leader in the state. According to the bjp, 25 persons have been fielded as candidates with similar criminal records.

"Maurya is currently not just the sitting mla but also the deputy chief minister," the bjp said in a statement following the incident. He is a well-known leader not only in his district but also throughout the state. His name was put forth by the party's district unit in recognition of his social work and commitment to the betterment of the poor's life. He was also chosen over other candidates since he has had cases filed against him due to 'political rivalry.'"
