Ma Subramanian, the minister of Medical and Public Welfare, has announced that special booster vaccination campaigns will be organised on Thursdays across tamil Nadu, similar to the major vaccination camps held on Saturdays. He initiated a new campaign to deliver additional immunizations in chennai just a few days ago. On Saturdays, he informed reporters, "giant immunisation campaigns are organised every week." This massive immunisation programme takes conducted every week in around 50,000 locations.

Special booster vaccination programmes will be performed every thursday from now on. At a total of 600 locations, special booster vaccination programmes will be held. Ten lakh people in tamil Nadu would be eligible for the booster vaccine by the end of January. Two days after the pongal festival, the corona effect will be displayed. The general public must follow the corona guidelines.

He later added, "People don't have to panic as everything is under control and nearly 5% of the cases are only being hospitalized in this third wave and most of them are recovering in just 3 days time itself and even normal Paracetamol or Dola-650 is enough to cure. The R-Value is also lowering down and the cases are declining and we are sure, everything will be normal at the earliest and we are also having enough of booster dosage vaccinations."
