The 18-year-old shooter had posted a mysterious message to a stranger on instagram hours before opening fire on youngsters at a texas school. He used the username "salv8dor_" on an account that was shut down shortly after the gunman was recognised as Salvador Ramos. The shooter's instagram account was thought to feature photographs of weaponry and a mirror selfie of himself. The account also posted a snapshot of two weapons with a tag to another user.


@epnupues, the user, claimed she had never heard of Ramos. He messaged her that he "had a tiny secret" and tagged her in the gun photo. He was asked why he tagged her in the photo with the weapons, and she expressed her fear. After rushing into a texas elementary school on Tuesday, a teen gunman slaughtered at least 19 children and two teachers, the latest in a string of gun-related mass killings in the united states and the country's bloodiest school shooting in almost a decade.


Authorities say the mayhem began when the 18-year-old suspect, Salvador Ramos, shot his own grandmother, who survived. He drove away from the scene and crashed near the Robb Elementary school in Uvalde, texas, about 80 miles (130 kilometres) west of San Antonio. There, he went on a deadly rampage that ended when he was shot and killed by police.
