A trs leader who had entered the home of trs mla A. jeevan reddy brandishing a revolver in an attempt to murder him has been detained, hyderabad police announced on Monday. The police have arrested Paddagani prasad Goud, a trs leader from the nizamabad area, and have also confiscated a button knife, an air pistol, two cylinders, three packs of air rifle pellets, and a country-made gun with an extra magazine. The mla was about to have supper when prasad broke into his banjara hills home that evening and pointed a revolver at him, according to the police. When jeevan reddy saw the accused, he yelled to warn his crew, and the suspect ran away.

According to deputy commissioner of police Joel Davis, prasad had a grudge against the mla because he believed the latter was to blame for his wife Lavanya's suspension from her position as sarpanch of Kalladi village in Makloor mandal (block) and for failing to release Rs 20 lakh to cover outstanding bills for the development work done in the village. Prasad, who was managing his wife's workload, used money from his own pocket to pay for development projects totaling Rs 20 lakh. On the basis of a report by Makloor MPA regarding various anomalies, the district Collector had suspended Lavanya as the Sarpanch in february of this year. The invoices were not paid once the suspension was lifted.
