Although there has been a misconception that the Old Anantapuram district has a sizable proportion of Kammas, the data disproves this. Surprisingly, only 3% of Kammas reside in the region, which consists of 14 constituencies. However, Kamams continue to have an advantage in capturing the mla seats in this district. The MLAs for Kalyanadurgam, Anantapuram, Raptadu, Hindupuram, and dharmavaram were Kammas between 2014 and 2019.

After then, though, the situation changed. The candidates who lost the assembly election were Paritala Sriram, Varadapuram Suri, Hanumantaraaya Chowdary's family, and Vaikuntham prabhakar Chowdary. In this area, BCs used to offer these candidates a significant amount of support. tdp made a concerted effort to polarise tdp voters in their favour. However, ycp has recently polarised those identical BCs in its favour, which has caused a significant jolt for TDP.

Furthermore, the conflict between BCs and Kammas changed as a result of Gorantla Madhav's divisive film, which contributed to a stronger political division. It will be difficult for kamma leaders of the tdp to gain mla seats in the upcoming elections. tdp is looking for some big number of votes in the upcoming elections and already the canvassing has begun.
