In opposition to the renaming of ntr University of health Sciences after the late Y S Rajasekhar reddy, prominent writer and former rajya sabha member yarlagadda lakshmi Prasad on wednesday announced his resignation from the position of andhra pradesh Official Languages Commission. He handed in his resignation shortly after the jagan Mohan reddy administration decided to rename the health university after ysr and introduced legislation to that effect in the legislature.

Yarlagadda went on to say that he was also resigning from his position as chairman of the ap hindi Academy. He argued that the jagan government's choice was incorrect and fervently favoured keeping the university's name as ntr University of health Sciences in honour of the illustrious actor and former chief minister. When ntr entered national politics in the late 1980s, yarlagadda, who had previously worked as a lecturer of hindi at Andhra University, served as his hindi tutor.

He only entered politics at NTR's urging. Later, he grew close to Nandamuri Harikrishna, the son of ntr, and was nominated to the rajya sabha with him. The tdp members had previously called for the resignation of ntr supporters in the ysr congress party, such as yarlagadda and Nandamuri lakshmi Parvathi, as well as ardent supporters like nani -Latest Updates, Photos, Videos are a click away, CLICK NOW'>kodali nani and Vallabhaneni Vamsi.
