The survey started within 500 meters of the Taj, after the order of the supreme court, ADA got the measurement done

Two teams of the Development Authority reached Tajganj on thursday to measure the restricted area of 500 meters from the Taj Mahal. Lace was put on the streets. The survey was done with the help of machines. Due to the large area, four teams will determine and mark the boundary from Friday. All business activities happening in the restricted area will be closed.



On the orders of the supreme court, the Development Authority has started a survey to stop commercial activities within 500 meters of the Taj Mahal. The help of the Revenue Department is being taken in this. So that in future there is no need to mark again. Vichit Gaur, the vice-chairman of the Development Authority, said that on thursday, two teams determined the boundary. The radius of 500 meters is bigger than the southern gate, eastern gate, and western gate. 

Due to the large area, the teams will be increased further. He said that notices would be issued after the survey. Then all business activities will be excluded from the restricted perimeter in a phased manner. There will be no commercial activity within a radius of 500 meters. In the afternoon, the ADA Vice President along with the team visited the areas around the Taj Mahal.


In 2000, the supreme court fixed the range of 500 meters. Then 71 shopkeepers were removed from the western gate. The records of the survey conducted 22 years ago were sought by the ADA from the Archaeological survey of india (ASI). On thursday, the ASI, in a reply sent to the ADA, said that they do not have any record of the survey. ASI has not conducted any such survey.

A delegation of people running shops in the restricted periphery reached the development authority's office on Thursday. In which traders of South Gate and east Gate were involved. Objected to the action being taken by ADA. Could not meet ADA Vice President.

There are more than 400 hotels, shops, and emporiums in the restricted area of the Taj. In the year 2000, the supreme court declared a restricted area. There is also a ban on the entry of vehicles in this area. The issuance of new passes has been banned by the Transport Department. people can move here by private vehicle only through a special pass.
