Indian Navy Day Special:  Operation Trident!!!

Navy Day is celebrated every year on 4 December. Navy Day was established to remember the role and achievements of the indian Navy in 'Operation Trident' during the 1971 Indo-Pak war. This decision to celebrate Navy Day was taken in May 1972 at the Senior Naval Officers' Conference. Operation Trident was a memorable war for the indian Navy, but do you know that the indian Navy has done many such operations, about which very few people know?

Pakistan bowed before the 'sword' of the indian Navy!

Whenever the heroic story of the indian Navy is narrated, the chest of the entire countrymen swells. Don't know mother india gave birth to so many brave hearts who happily fought with the enemies till their last breath for the motherland. We got the victory in the Kargil war only because of the indomitable valour and courage of the indian soldiers. Although Kargil has many stories of its own, one story which got blurred in the pages of the past was the Navy's 'Operation Talwar' which scared pakistan so much that it started pleading for help from foreign governments.

The year 1999 was the month of May when the Kargil war started, the indian Armed Forces launched several operations to capture their territory in the Drass sector. One of these operations was the 'Operation Talwar' of the indian Navy. This Operation Talwar caused so much damage to pakistan that pakistan got scared and succumbed to the indian forces.
