In this way, between 2019 and 2023, more than 8,000 IIT students dropped out of their studies in the middle of the country, the minister said. minister of State for education Subhash Sarkar gave a written answer to this effect. He said that post-graduate and PhD courses have the highest number of dropouts. This is not limited to just IITs! The minister said that Central university has the highest number of dropouts (17,454).

At the same time, according to the statistics of the National Crime Records Bureau, 39 people have committed suicide since 2018, the minister said. Among them, seven students took their lives on AIIMS campuses. Since 2018, 98 students who are studying in higher education institutions have committed suicide. But the minister said that due to severe mental stress, and personal and medical reasons, all of them are dropping out of studies.
