Following elections in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, and Mizoram, all eyes are now on telangana, which goes to the polls on november 30. The state will see a straight election between the Bharat Rashtra Samithi, led by K Chandrashekar Rao, the Congress, and the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Rao, or kcr as he is colloquially known, has served as the state's chief minister since the state's inception in 2014. The BRS (previously telangana Rashtra Samithi) won 88 out of 119 seats in the 2018 assembly election with a huge majority. The Congress, which won only 19 seats, is expecting to launch a comeback and prevent kcr from serving a third term.

In the previous election, the bharatiya janata party won one seat. The bjp is hopeful that its triumph in the civic polls would transfer into greater success in the assembly election. The ballots will be counted on december 3.

KCR's son, KT Rama Rao, has received a poll panel notice.

The election commission has issued a show-cause notice to telangana minister KT Rama Rao (KTR) for allegedly violating the model code of conduct. The poll panel has sought an explanation from ktr over his announcement of job recruitment at T-Works (government institution) in response to a complaint filed by Congress' randeep surjewala and has directed that ministers not combine their official visit with electioneering work and shall not use official machinery or personnel.
