Singapore's government said on tuesday that it will strengthen Covid-19 safeguards once more as fresh cases continue to emerge, delaying the country's preparations to reopen.

In Singapore, there have been many clusters of Covid-19 instances in karaoke bars, wet markets, and hawker food centres. According to data from the Ministry of health, there were 480 community cases last week, up significantly from the previous seven days. Given the present rate of transmission, the number of cases is projected to skyrocket as more individuals become sick.

Between July 12 and July 18, the health ministry reported an average of 46 community cases per day. From Thursday, July 22 through Sunday, august 18, the new limitations will be in force. "In the following days, we may expect case numbers to rise," it stated.

The following restrictions will be reinstated:
The maximum number of individuals allowed to congregate would be decreased from five to two.
Each day, each household will be permitted just two unique guests, except grandparents caring for their grandkids.
Restaurants, food courts, and hawker centres will be allowed to serve takeout, but dining out would be prohibited.
Indoor sports and fitness activities that normally necessitate mask removal will be discontinued.
Large-scale events, such as live concerts and wedding celebrations, will be toned back, with pre-event testing remaining an important step.
For most businesses, working from home is still the default choice.
