Seven flood rescue teams and one Seaking 42C helicopter have been dispatched by the Western Naval Command to help the state government in Konkan. Chiplun and Khed are the most hit regions, thus the teams are now in Ratnagiri and Raigad districts. Several areas have been inundated by floodwaters from the Vasisthi river and water discharged from the Koyana dam.

The indian Navy has dispatched seven rescue teams to assist in the rescue and relief activities in the districts of Ratnagiri and Raigad. Personnel who have been stranded in both districts are being evacuated. uddhav thackeray, Maharashtra's chief minister, assessed the flood situation in both districts impacted by heavy rain.


The naval flood rescue teams are completely self-sufficient, with gemini rubber boats, loud hailers, first-aid kits, life jackets, and lifebuoys. Specialized naval divers and diving equipment are also part of these rescue teams. Additional water rescue teams are being kept on standby in mumbai, ready to deploy immediately if the need arises, according to commander Karnik.

For flood rescue and relief, the state government has sent 17 NDRF companies to several districts, including Ratnagiri, Sindudurg, Kolhapur, Sangli, and Satara. On thursday evening, seven naval rescue teams left mumbai by road for deployment in the Ratnagiri and Raigad districts. Personnel who have been stranded in Raigad are also being evacuated. Early friday morning, a Seaking 42C Helo from the INS Shikra in mumbai went for rescue at Poladpur in Raigad.
