On Sunday, Ramappa temple was inscribed as a World heritage Site following a discussion that lasted precisely one hour and 29 minutes at the UNESCO World heritage Committee's extended 44th session, which was held online from Fuzhou, China. "The sandbox technique and floating bricks, which are the temple's distinctive features, helped acquire the UNESCO title for the temple," M Panduranga Rao, a trustee of Kakatiya heritage Trust (KHT) and warangal Convener of INTACH, stated.

In collaboration with the Kakatiya heritage Trust and the indian National Trust for Art and Cultural heritage (INTACH), the warangal district government filed a proposal to UNESCO for World heritage Sites. BV Papa Rao, a former IAS official, claimed that in the 1980s, he led the project Geo technology Appraisal and Evaluation of Kakatia Monuments. According to him, the density of lightweight or floating bricks is 0.9 gm/cc, whereas the density of water is 1 gm/cc. Those blocks are as light as air. As a result, they float on water.

Ministers errabelli dayakar rao and Satyavathi Rathod from telangana congratulated chief minister K Chandrashekhar Rao for taking the initiative to get the badge. They stated that the designation of Ramappa temple as a World heritage Site was a source of pride for all telangana residents.

The trs administration worked hard to obtain the Ramappa temple designated as a UNESCO World heritage Site. The UNESCO received reports made by the state administration on many occasions. The telangana Tourism Development Corporation (TSTDC) and the Irrigation Department intend to enhance Ramappa Lake and its environs by creating roads, building a mini-tank bund, and installing a rope/zip line.
