Himanta Biswa Sarma, the chief minister of assam, has been charged with attempted murder and criminal conspiracy in connection with the recent border skirmishes with Mizoram. A squad of "200 fully armed" assam police officers has been accused by Mizoram police of intimidating its own team of 20 officers and attempting to "forcefully occupy" their police camp. The offender has been charged under different sections of the indian Penal Code (IPC), the Arms Act, and the Mizoram Containment and Prevention of Covid-19 Act 2020 by Mizoram police. They claim they were outmanned and that their efforts to protect their camp were futile.
