In the past years, various states and cities were hit by a shortage of drinking water. It is currently reeling from heavy rains. The cities themselves look like a flooded forest.
If it rains heavily one day, it is a pity to have to go by boat to most parts of India. The normal life of the people has been affected including the shortage of essential commodities and milk for the people.
According to the ruling Government, this is due to encroachments on lakes, canals and waterways, flats in drainage areas and lack of sewerage system, and on the other hand, the multi-crore corruption in the Smart City project under the past regime.
It is true that rainwater harvesting and maintenance work abandoned in flood drains are degraded by water bodies, debris and solid waste, but is this the only reason for the recent floods all over India?
The main question to consider here is, why the massive change in climate over the last decade? Are we the only ones to blame for Climate Change...?
Is india the worst polluted Nation...? Who began Carbon emissions...? So many questions arise, but the reality is we are being cheated on Climate Change...?
