Rain in Vellore- Holidays for schools
School and colleges in Vellore, Ranipettai district are closed today. Holidays are given only to schools in the Thiruvannamalai district.
It rained in Vellore district from 9 pm last night. It continues to rain this morning. Water has accumulated in low-lying areas due to widespread rainfall.
In the Katpadi VG Rao nagar area, rain flooded houses. Thus the public was greatly inconvenienced.
It also rained in Ranipettai and tirupati districts this morning. Arakkonam, Kaveripakkam, Walaja, Cholingar, Arcot, and Ranipettai also received continuous rains.
Water seeped into the fields in the Nemli areas of Panappakkam. Thus the crops are damaged.
In the tirupati district, it continued to rain in Vaniyambadi, Ambur, Jolarpettai, Nattarampalli, and tirupati areas this morning. A public picket was held on Pernampattu Road as the lake water in Ambur infiltrated the residence.
In Thiruvannamalai district, it will rain widely at Thiruvannamalai, Arani, Seiyaru, Vandavasi, Chettupattu, Polur, Kannamangal, Sengam, Keezhpennathur and Vettavalam areas.
The lake and ponds across the district are overflowing. In the meanwhile, the crops have been damaged due to the inflow of rainwater into the fields in Kannamangalam. Houses in low-lying areas are flooded.
