The situation will be continuously monitored before imposing new restrictions in Maharashtra. If cases and patients increase in hospitals, then new restrictions can be imposed.

Corona cases are increasing rapidly once again in Maharashtra. 1036 new cases were found on sunday and with this the weekly average in the state also reached the highest level since february 26. In mumbai too, 50 percent cases have increased in five days. Of the new cases being received in the state, 60 to 70 percent are being found in mumbai itself. Meanwhile, 3741 new cases have been found in the country in the last 24 hours ending tuesday morning. These are 17 percent less than on Monday.

A meeting was held under the chairmanship of maharashtra CM uddhav thackeray on monday to review the situation in Corona. In this, the continuous increase in Kovid cases in the state was considered. The state government says that since the number of infected people is increasing, but the number of people admitted to hospitals has not increased, that is, the infection is not serious, so the situation will be continuously monitored before imposing new restrictions. If cases and patients increase in hospitals, then new restrictions can be imposed.

Corona cases are increasing rapidly in maharashtra once again after February. At that time the third wave came due to the Omicron variant of Corona. Then the cases are increasing, then there is a possibility of a fourth wave in mumbai, but experts are still denying any new wave or panic-like situation. The average positivity rate in maharashtra is 4.25 per cent. This is the highest since february 13. Talking about mumbai, there are more than 24,500 corona beds available and only 0.74 percent of them i.e. 185 were filled on Monday. On monday, 676 new infected were found in mumbai, while 1036 cases were found in entire Maharashtra. Since May, out of the total infected daily in the state, 60-70 percent of the patients are being found in Mumbai.

Highly contagious effect of BA.4 and BA.5

Officials say that the reason for the increase in cases in maharashtra is Omicron's BA.4 and BA.5 sub-strains. Most of the cases in the state are from these two variants. According to State health Minister Rajesh Tope, they are highly contagious. According to Tope, the number of people hospitalized in entire maharashtra including mumbai is still very less. This is not a matter of great concern as the infection rate is low.

More cases in pune after Mumbai

Minister Tope has presented the details of the cases received in the last seven days in the cabinet meeting. According to this, 67 percent of the cases found in the last week were found in mumbai, 7.4 percent in pune, 3.3 percent in Raigad and 2 percent in Palghar.
