Indira Gandhi's Death Anniversary...

On the morning of 31 october 1984, everything was as usual at 1 Safdarjung Road, the residence of prime minister Indira Gandhi. indira gandhi had returned a day earlier in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, giving her memorable speech. indira gandhi returned to delhi and was busy with work till late at night. sonia Gandhi's health was not good. When she came to the room to take medicine, indira gandhi was awake. Indira asked sonia to tell her if she needed anything. Somehow indira gandhi spent that night. Her schedule for the next day was going to be very busy. 

A memorable speech was given in Bhubaneshwar

Indira gandhi gave a memorable speech on 30 october in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. This speech was discussed across the country. She said on the sidelines of the scheduled speech that 'I am here today. I might not be here tomorrow. I don't care whether I should stay or not. I've been around a long time, and I'm happy to have dedicated my entire life to serving my community. I will keep doing this till my last breath and when I die every drop of my blood will go towards strengthening India.

The security personnel only fired bullets

Terrorism was at its peak in Punjab. The movement was being run under the leadership of Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale. All the terrorists had made a hideout in the golden temple of Amritsar. On 5 june 1984, then prime minister indira gandhi orders to start Operation Blue Star to eliminate Sikh terrorism. Many including Bhindranwala died in this operation. However, parts of the golden temple were damaged during the operation. A section of the community was angry with Indira over this matter. Threats were being made continuously. After the intelligence alert, the Sikh security personnel posted in India's security were also asked to be removed, but they themselves refused it. On the morning of 31 october, as soon as india gandhi reached the gate of the residence for the interview, Beant Singh, a delhi Police personnel posted in security, fired two bullets at Indira Gandhi. One of these bullets hit Indira in the chest and she fell to the ground. In this, another security personnel Satwant Singh took out his carbine and emptied the entire bullets on Indira Gandhi. About 28 bullets are said to be in it.
