On wednesday night the lucknow police registered a First Information Report against a private hospital in the city for allegedly spreading rumors on shortage of oxygen. The FIR claimed that the hospital is hoarding the gas at its facility and released a statement about shortage of oxygen. The district administration has complained to the lucknow police who registered FIR. The sun Hospital, situated in the Gomti nagar area when asked about the allegation said that it would move the allahabad high court against the FIR. On May 3, the allahabad high court held the sun hospital responsible for the deaths of the patients who are denied oxygen saying that there is oxygen shortage in the hospital.
The court said that it is not less than genocide. The court made the observation based on a notice put out by sun Hospital which asked family members of Covid-19 patients to be admitted at the hospital to shift them to some other facility due to shortage of the gas. The FIR mentioned that the notice “created fear and panic among the patients’ families.” The lucknow district administration however alleged that it has found eight jumbo cylinders and two B-type cylinders and concentrators in the hospital.
