The very first drive-in vaccination center was set up in Dadar, which was quite successful. It also drew praise from all quarters of the commons.

So BMC is planning to set up seven new drive-in centres across the city with the inspiration from the success of the first drive-in center. These drive-in vaccination centres will help specially abled people or senior citizens to get easily vaccinated sitting right in the comfort of their car.
The first drive-in vaccination center was started earlier this week in the city's multi-storey Kohinoor public parking lot on JK Sawant Marg, near shivaji Park in Dadar West. mumbai municipal commissioner Iqbal Singh chahal has directed officials to set up seven more before this weekend.
The centre in Dadar has been first established to inoculate people above 45 years of age. However, the municipal commissioner has later revised it and now people above 60 years of age can also get their shots at these drive-in centres.

BMC has also instructed that those planning to get vaccinated at any drive-in centres should not drive themselves, and should be accompanied by an attendant or driver.
