Amid the ongoing pandemic, two moaist operative were arrested in Kabirdham district of chhattisgarh on Thursday. The very next day two other operatives surrendered to the police in Kanker citing their illness. The police said that all the four maoists were tested positive for Covid-19.

Earlier a letter was found in a Maoist camp by the Bijapur security forces in which the details about the spread of the virus among the comdres was mentioned. As the maoists are not getting access to the medicines due to nakabandi, they have come out of the forests to get treated for the illness.
Baster IG P Sundarraj said, suspected Maoist operatives arjun Tatti and Laxmi Pedda approached Border Security Force (BSF) personnel in Kanker on wednesday to surrender. They said that they had abandoned Medki LOS due to illness and requested medical assistance. On further examination, both tested positive.”

 
He also said, “We have admitted them to the Covid care hospital in the district headquarters for treatment.”

 
According to Kabirdham Superintendent of police Shalabh Sinha, two Maoist operatives, including a local commander in Chilfi range of Kabirdham district — 250 km from Kanker district were arrested by security forces during a search operation. “When we tested them, they both tested positive. We have admitted them at a Covid care centre.”
