A new study by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention(CDC) of united states shows that the Delta variant of the Covid-19 produces similar amounts of virus in both vaccinate and unvaccinated people if they are infected. The new study published on friday by the CDC revealed the Delta variant spreads much faster. The research study was focused on 469 Covid infected individuals from Massachusetts who went of Barnstable county, where there was reported outbreak of the virus, during July 3 to 17.

Of the total 469 infected people, about 74 per cent or 346 people were fully vaccinated, according to the study. Upon testing, the delta variant was found in 90% of samples from 133 patients. The CDC warned the Delta variant is as dangerous as Chickenpox and said the government bodies must acknowlege that the war has changed against the pandemic.

Scientists, however, acknowledge that the infection chances from the vaccinated people is much rarer when compared to the unvaccinated people.  In the coronavirus family, the delta variant of Covid-19 is more transmissible than other viruses such as Mers and Sars, Smallpox and Ebola, according to the CDC study. Although the vaccines prevent over 90 per cent of severe disease, but the charateristics of this variant  are so dangerous that the vaccines may be less effective at preventing transmission or infection.

The study report was leaked only days after the US health agency recommended that even vaccinated individuals should wear masks at some indoor settings, especially in areas of virus outbreak.
