Public health Department director Selvavinayakam has sent a circular to all district health Officers: As per the guidelines of the Central government, from january 16, 2021, 'Covaxin, Covishield' vaccines will be given in tamil Nadu. Subsequently, the Corbevax and Sputnik-V vaccines came into use.
Currently, the covovax vaccine is included in the National Corona Vaccine Program. Accordingly, people between the ages of 12 and 17 can be vaccinated against covovax in private hospitals. Similarly, 12- to 17-year-olds can receive the first and second installments of the 'Corbevax' vaccine at public and private hospitals.Also, people between the ages of 15 and 17 can be vaccinated with covaxin in public and private hospitals. For the first and second installments, Covaxin or Covishield vaccines can be given to people over 18 years of age. In government and private hospitals, the booster dose for those over 60 can be vaccinated.The Sputnik-V vaccine can be given to people over the age of 18 in private hospitals. The booster dose vaccine for 18- to 59-year-olds is not provided free of charge at government hospitals. At the same time, it can be put in private hospitals. Thus it is said.
