With Dearness Allowance, has the indian government also planned to improve the house Rent Allowance (HRA) of central government employees?

After giving great news to central government workers of granting them 28% Dearness Allowance (DA) from July 1, now the central government said that no consideration will be given to spike the monthly basic wages of Central workers, denying a bonanza offer to the employees.

The government says no rise in basic salary is being counted

On July 28 i.e. today, Pankaj Chaudhary, Finance minister of India, has given a written response stating that the central government is not holding any such scheme. The written response also made it clear that the fitment part of 2.57 was implemented evenly for all sections of employees only for the reason of fixation of salary in the revised salary structure based on the guidance of the 7th Central Pay Commission.

This came to light when the minister of Finance was responding to a question in Parliament. He was questioned whether the central government is considering raising the monthly basic pay of the employees after the reparation of Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief as per the fitment part based on the recommendations of the commission.

It is essential to note that Central employees are currently earning 17% DA at the moment. However, from July 1, it has been increased to 28%. This dearness allowance will be added to the september salary. If this happens, then the sum-up of Dearness Allowance will double to 31%.
