The cost of printing one thousand notes of Rs 10 is Rs 960.

The cost of printing 1000 notes of Rs 20 is Rs 950.

This means that it is more expensive to print a 10 rupee note than a 20 rupee note.

Rs 2,290 is spent on printing 1000 notes of Rs 500.

The total expenditure on printing thousand notes of Rs 200 is Rs 2,370.

Rs 1,770 has to be spent on printing 1000 notes of Rs 100.

In the financial year 2020-21, the cost of printing one thousand notes of Rs 50 was Rs 920, which increased by 23 per cent to Rs 1,130 in 2021-22. The least effect has been seen in the note of 20 rupees. In the fiscal year 2020-21, the expenditure on printing Rs 20 thousand notes was Rs 940, which increased to Rs 950. There has been no increase in the cost of printing Rs 500 notes during this period.

Printing of notes takes place here in the country

The RBI and the central government print notes in four different parts of the country. Out of which two presses are under the RBI, two presses work under the central government. Presses under RBI are located in mysore and Salboni. The central government Press is present in Nashik and Dewas. However, only the central government has the right to mint coins. Coins are minted in the country in Mumbai, Hyderabad, kolkata and Noida.
