Price hike is killing people..! 42% increase in the price of a meal..!?

Inflation, especially food inflation, has become a major problem not only in india but globally, with people from the rich to the middle class being directly affected by this rise in food inflation. We are going to use a simple metric to estimate. How much does it cost for an average indian to have a Thali meal at home? We are going to calculate inflation based on that. An average indian needs to know what is included in a thali meal and how much it costs, then it will be clear why we take thali meals as a scale. Generally, a thali meal includes grains (rice and wheat), vegetables, potatoes, and onions, tomato is taken as a staple vegetable, and eggplant, cabbage, Lady's finger, and cauliflower as seasonal vegetables. This is followed by pulses (lentil, dal, dal, and gram), spices (turmeric, dry chilies, salt, and2 coriander), and edible oils (mustard, coconut, and groundnut oil). Along with the cost of these items, the cost of a thali meal also includes the cost of cooking fuel. A person should consume two thali meals to meet the daily nutritional requirements. An economic study estimated the cost of homemade thali meals by combining them with the retail price of ingredients required to prepare these thali meals. This has been developed as a new method of calculation under the heading 'Thalinomics' of the Economic survey (ES) 2019-20.In june 2015, the cost of one vegetarian thali meal was less than Rs 16 (ie, it cost only around Rs 31 to cook two thali meals a day). In june 2022, the same thali meals cost Rs 22 (or Rs 45 per day). The cost of thali has risen by around 42 percent overall between 2015-2022. All the above-mentioned price situation is for light diet meal, this is heavy diet thali meals, the price increase is about 39 percent. In june 2015 thali meals cost Rs. 21 to Rs.29 in june 2022.For a family of five, the cost of monthly thali meals has increased from around Rs 4,700 (2015) to around Rs 6,700 (2022) for a light diet and from Rs 6,300 to Rs 8,700 for a heavy diet. This is the price for Veg Thali Meals only. When the price of food items increases, the poor people will reduce the amount of food they consume, which will not only affect the nutritional status of the population but also indirectly affect the economic and trade development of the country. Above all, these veg thali meals do not include curd, tea, or fruits.
